Besides the early morning showers and late afternoon gusts of wind it was a great day at this years Oktoberfest/Oktobercross event. With close to 600 racers and a good mix of local residents this years event was a success!

For those of you who never attended a bicycle cross race just as this, it is definitely a site to see. The race course consisted of tight turns, sand traps, creeks to cross, hills to climb, mud pits, corn fields, bumpy rollers, and grassy straight a ways. All of which contributed to the entertaining bike races that were taking place all day. Other entertaining factors include the various snack or drinks such as twinkies, bacon & whiskey bystanders extended out to the racers as they passed by and the constant heckling of the racers for not living up to the standards of the viewing bystanders. Not to mention all the great food and drinks that were available and all the children activities and local vendors who came out to showcase their local business. All in all... a good time!

Thank You to everyone who came out and supported this great local event on Sunday the 16th of October. Thank You to all of those who visited the Rotary booth and bought twinkies or raffle twinkies for the Sony PSP Sports Pack. Congratulations to the winner of the PSP! Special thanks to Mudslingers for all their hard work serving the endless line of coffee drinkers and donut eaters.
