Operation Warm brings warmth and smiles to Golfview Elementary kids.

The Operation Warm event was a huge succes. With money raised from the Carpentersville OctoberCross event along with donations from Rotarians and others, we were able to purchase enough coats to provide for 145 kids at Golfview Elementary in Carpentersville.

The children were members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township.  The event started with a party for the kids. Members of our club served refreshements to the kids.  Barry Savage was the MC and put on some fun games as well.

The children were not aware that they were going to be receiving the coats.  It was heartwarming to see the reaction when they were led into the school gym and handed out coats.

Special thanks to Rotarian Donna Zoellick for all of her help with the logistics of putting this event together.

The event received media coverage from the Elgin Courier.  Here is a link to the story.
